(This series is currently ongoing. Additional messages will be added week to week.)

Isaiah 46:13 - ...and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

Lesson 1: Israel My Glory: Introduction

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Apr. 14, 2021 | Isaiah 46:13 | Introductory Outline | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we open a new series focused upon God's purpose and calling for the nation Israel. The design of the series is to orient the believer to the goal and intent of God's program with the nation and demonstrate the consistency of God throughout His word in view of His purpose in creation. In this introductory message, we discuss the reasons why the series is necessary and also talk about the importance of the information to believers today in the body of Christ.

Lesson 2: The Possessor of Heaven & Earth (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Apr. 21, 2021 | Genesis 1:1 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin laying the foundation of the series in earnest by looking at the creative active of God whereby He made the heaven and the earth. In the very first verse of the Bible, we see the mind of God begin to be communicated to us as His manner of expressions educate on His own perspective concerning the creation. We also explore the reason for which God made the distinct spheres and delve into some of the details for His purpose with them, administration of them, and the joy of His own heart.

Lesson 3: The Possessor of Heaven & Earth (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Apr. 28, 2021 | Genesis 1:1-2:25 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue looking at the creation. Specifically, our attention is directed by God to His work concerning the earth during the creation week. We are given to see the mechanical implementation of His plan in view of His purpose in the things He went to work to accomplish in the first seven days. Various scripture passages are sited to give context to God's wisdom work in connection with the heaven and earth and we also highlight the role of man as it relates to His laboring together with God.

Lesson 4: The Possessor of Heaven & Earth (Pt. 3)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 5, 2021 | Eze. 28:11-19; Isa. 14:12-17 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, our attention turns to the question of why we see not yet all things put under the Lord Jesus Christ according to the Father's original design. Something horrible happened inside a resplendent creature, and a plan of evil was born to oppose the Father's good pleasure. Over the course of this message, we examine the origination of the plan of evil along with the various elements that were set out by a being who corrupted his wisdom and devoted himself to a course of opposition to all that is holy. The background information and the contriving work of Satan is examined in this lesson, and the one to follow.

Lesson 5: The Possessor of Heaven & Earth (Pt. 4)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 12, 2021 | Isa. 14:12-17; Eze. 28:11-19; Gen. 3:1-24 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we delve into the mechanical implementation of Satan's plan of evil as he begins to pursue his objective to be like the most High. Having learned that the most High is a title that signifies who is the rightful possessor of heaven and earth, we have a basis for understanding Satan's usurping activities in both realms of God's creation government. We are given to see the multiplication of Satan's iniquity in the heavenly places as he trafficks his corrupted wisdom among the principalities and powers, and we also learn of his deceptive tactics on earth to recruit man into his ungodly objectives. Finally, we see the response of God to the Satanic plan of evil, and the stage is set for the showdown of the ages as wisdom combats wisdom for the rightful possession of the title as the most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

Lesson 6: The Course of this World (Pt. 1): Cain & Abel

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 19, 2021 | Eph. 2:2; Gen. 4:1-26 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we delve into the Satanic response to God's declared plan for earthly repossession through the seed of the woman. The course of this world is the primary topic in this message with a brief introduction from Ephesians 2 and a look at the first steps of its implementation in Genesis 4 with the way of Cain. Through Cain and his descendants, the prince of this world devises a policy that caters to man's spiritual deadness and the lust of his flesh to multiply Satanic wisdom throughout the earth. The things covered in this message are designed to showcase the first of three steps that Satan took to secure his usurped dominion on the earth.

Lesson 7: The Course of this World (Pt. 2): The Sons of God & The Daughters of Men

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 26, 2021 | Gen. 5:1-8:22; 2 Pet. 2:4-6; Jude 1:6-7,14-15 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue looking at the course of the world and the Satanic policy of evil designed to securing his usurped claim on earth. As we see the competing wisdoms take shape in the lines of Cain and Seth, we are transitioned into the next step of intensification in Satan's offensive attack against the seed of the woman. A peculiar event is recorded in Gen. 6 in relation to the sons of God and the daughters of men. This abominable activity rapidly corrupts the earth and produces the world of the ungodly according to Satan's will. In response, we also see God ushering in a catastrophic judgment against mankind that at first appears to be the end of His plan and purpose with man. Nevertheless, Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD and serves as the channel through which God's wisdom plan will continue on.

Lesson 8: The Course of this World (Pt. 3): Babel

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 2, 2021 | Gen. 9:1-11:9; Rom. 1:18-32 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we move on to the current world order as experienced in the advent of human government. Following the flood, the institution of governing authority among men was established by God and vested with his blessing and authority for the replenishing of the earth. Soon after the flood, Satan began his work to re-implement his policy of evil and the course of this world among men. In characteristic rebelliousness, the nations of men again align themselves with Satan's objectives, and the kingdom of Babel is born with its idolatrous reaching unto the heaven, a great name, and a centralized headquarters. The scattering of men occurs under the judgment of God and the nations are given over to the power of darkness and given leave to walk in their own ways.

Lesson 9: Abraham (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 9, 2021 | Genesis 12:1-3 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin to look at God's plan of offense in response to the Adversary's corruption on the earth through the nations. As the world of the Gentiles has been given over to walk in their own ways, God Himself moves and reaches into the very heart of the Enemy's stronghold and plucks a brand out of the fire for His own use. To Abram, God reveals a purpose make a nation of His own creation through his seed and to give him a land that will be center of God's blessings for all the families of the earth. In this preliminary study on God's purpose with Abram, or Abraham as he will come to be known, we examine some of the early details we are given about this important character in the repossession purpose of God for this earth.

Lesson 10: Abraham (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 16, 2021 | Genesis 12:4-9; 13:14-18 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue examining Abram and the initial interactions between himself and the LORD. The particular area of focus in this message is the special land that the LORD promised him for an inheritance. We briefly examine the reason that the land of Canaan is so special to the LORD and current state of it in view of the Canaanites' migration into it after the judgment of Babel. An array of passages are considered as we seek to put things in proper perspective in relation to the land. Furthermore, we see a special gesture that the LORD commands Abram to perform within that land that signals God's offensive battle strategy by which His land will be redeemed for His peculiar purpose on earth.

Lesson 11: Abraham (Pt. 3)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 23, 2021 | Genesis 14:1-24 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we examine Satan's stirring of the Gentile powers to strengthen his grip in response to Abram's presence in the land of Canaan. As disputes on the surface seem to focus upon the rebellion of tributaries, a special encounter with the king of Salem gives us insight into the behind-the-scenes activities of those who are Abram's enemies. Through divine empowerment, Abram and his small band of trained servants prevail over the armies of their enemies, and the tithes of the spoils of victory are given in tribute to the King of Righteousness and King of Peace who functions in the land as the visible representation of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth.

Lesson 12: Abraham (Pt. 4)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 30, 2021 | Gen. 15:1-21; Rom. 4:17-25; Heb. 6:13-20 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue our examination of Abram with a look into a crucial chapter in his relationship to the LORD. Genesis 15 is a chapter that is grounding to many Bible passages, and one that needs to be understood in order to properly orient ourselves to the rest of the word of God. Abram's justification unto eternal life is herein disclosed and becomes the pattern by which he is known as the father of faith. Additionally, the Abrahamic Covenant is confirmed with an oath as we see an unconditional covenant established between the LORD and the seed of Abram.

Lesson 13: Abraham (Pt. 5)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jul. 14, 2021 | Gen. 17:1-14; Rom. 4:9-12, 16-17; Eph. 2:11-13 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we conclude our examination of Abraham with a brief look at the issue of circumcision. Using the text of Genesis 17 along with the instructions of our apostle in Romans 4 and Ephesians 2, we learn about the 2 aspects of the doctrine of circumcision as it relates to Israel's Program. We deal with it from the standpoint of both its sign significance related to God's covenant relationship with Israel as a nation and its seal significance as it relates to the matter of a testimony concerning Abraham's fatherhood of all who believe. These crucial distinctions make a number of other doctrines easier to understand and help us to avoid common edification pitfalls when it comes to rightly dividing the word of truth.

Lesson 14: The Promises Made unto Israel's Fathers (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jul. 21, 2021 | Gen. 17:15-22; 21:1-8, 12; 25:19-26; 26:1-5; 28:10-22 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we track the confirmation of the Abrahamic Covenant through the seed of Abraham. Declarations of God's purpose to the preceding generation are considered, along with the personal encounters of the LORD with the patriarchs. Special attention is given to an event that takes place with Jacob in which the purpose of God's program with Israel is relayed and illustrated. We consider Jacob's dream and the vision of the ladder set up on the earth and reaching unto heaven and its "Beth-el" significance.

Lesson 15: The Promises Made unto Israel's Fathers (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jul. 28, 2021 | Gen. 28:12-19; 32:24-31; 35:22-26; 49:28 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we wrap up a few outstanding items from the previous lesson. A few additional details are provided regarding Jacob's dream-vision in Genesis 28, followed by a brief examination of his wrestling match with a man of God in Genesis 32. Per this account, we find that Jacob is made to confront the reality of his identity as Jacob, the Supplanter, and he is thereafter given a new name by the LORD. As Israel, his seed will prevail as a prince to have power with God and men, thus signifying the kingdom purpose God has with this great nation.

Lesson 16: The Exodus (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Aug. 4, 2021 | Gen. 15:12-16; 45:25-46:7, 26-27; 50:24-26 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin the transition from the Formation Stage in God's program with Israel to the Exodus Stage. While the majority of this message is spent in Genesis, its design is to set the groundwork in place for a comprehension of what we are taught in the opening chapters of the book of Exodus. A major theme that is focused upon is the prophecy of the word of God concerning the time in which He would visit His people in Egypt, and bring them hither again into the land of Canaan. We see God dealing with Israel via prophetic time schedules as early as Genesis 15, and the demonstrations of faith in Israel's fathers concerning those promises as shown in Jacob, Joseph and others.

Lesson 17: The Exodus (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Aug. 11, 2021 | Gen. 15:12-16; Exo. 1:1-2:10 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue our transition into the Exodus Stage of God's program with Israel. We return to Gen. 15 to note some additional details about the timeline God gave to Abraham, and to appreciate God's reasoning behind delaying His purpose for so long. God is not haphazard in His dealings, nor is the timeless One in a hurry to bring His objectives to pass. He is willing to wait while His wisdom plan of glory lines up and works itself out according to His good pleasure. Afterward, we then slide into the opening chapters of the book of Exodus and begin examining God's word come to pass in the prophesied time. A summary of Israel's hard bondage in Egypt is given, followed by the details concerning the goodly birth of Moses in the fourth generation. Things are about to get exciting!

Lesson 18: The Exodus (Pt. 3)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Aug. 18, 2021 | Exodus 2:11-3:15 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue our examination of the Exodus Stage of God's program with Israel. We take a look at an event that occurred in Egypt 40 years after Moses' birth and cross-reference it with the testimony of Stephen in Acts 7 to gain an appreciation for its significance as it relates to Moses' understanding of God's promise to Abraham. Afterward, we survey Moses' flight into the land of Midian, his new life there and the internal struggles that he has as a result of misunderstandings about God's timing. Finally, we are faced with the appearance of the LORD in the burning bush, the commissioning of Moses, the revelation of the name Jehovah and we are given to understand even more about the time issue as it relates to God's prophetic dealings with the nation Israel.

Lesson 19: The Exodus (Pt. 4)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Aug. 25, 2021 | Exodus 3:13-4:23 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we take a further look into the commissioning of Moses and the memorial of the name Jehovah. We briefly examine some examples of the memorial concept that Jehovah's name is to be for Israel's generations, and then explore the further details of God's instructions to Moses. Of special importance is the message with which Moses is sent back to Egypt. The LORD declares His purpose with His nation and the son-ship relationship that He desired to have with them. These details help us set up and better understand the events that will follow as the Exodus narrative progresses.

Lesson 20: The Exodus (Pt. 5)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Sep. 1, 2021 | Exodus 4:19-8:19 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, our goal is to examine the impact of the provocation of the name of the LORD upon the Adversary. Special instructions are given to Moses by the LORD in which God makes a point of the importance of Moses saying and doing specific things in the presence of Pharaoh. There is a designed hardening that is to be produced by the doctrine of the name of the LORD, and the communication of it is meant to stir a response from the Adversary to engage in a battle. The grip is tightened upon Israel as a result of this, and the LORD will begin to systematically dismantle Satan's defenses and put on a show that hallows Jehovah's name throughout the earth in accordance with His purpose for the nation Israel in the land.

Lesson 21: The Exodus (Pt. 6)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Sep. 8, 2021 | Exodus 7:14-14:18 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we take a quick sweep across the 10 plagues that the LORD brought upon Egypt, identifying passages and noticing the sequence of progress from one to ten. Afterward, we begin focusing on the particular emphasis of the doctrinal communication of the name of the LORD to Pharaoh and the Egyptians as the showdown unfolds in Egypt. We see a logical progression of communication in the statements of the LORD in what He begins making known about Himself as Jehovah. Claims are made about Himself, His separateness as God, and His objective with Israel in connection with His repossession program for the earth.

Lesson 22: The Exodus (Pt. 7)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Sep. 15, 2021 | Exo. 3:16-18a; 4:29-31; 5:19-21; 6:1-9; 8:20-23; 10:1-2; 11:1-3; 12:26-27, 35-36, 40-42; 13:8-10, 14-16
Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we consider the lessons of Jehovah's name to Israel as taught while they remained in Egypt. An emphasis is placed upon the first of the two expressions of Jehovah's name, I AM THAT I AM. We talk about matters related to Jehovah's truth and how that His words can be confidently relied upon. We cover the range of time spanning Moses' initial contact with His brethren and running through the judgments of the 10 plagues. In these chapters, we find a number of different issues of importance as it relates to Israel, and also provide a basis for learning many lessons about our own selves in the process. Ultimately we find that the program is all about Him, and not about man. Amen!

Lesson 23: The Exodus (Pt. 8)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Oct. 13, 2021 | Exo. 14:1-30; 15:1-21 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we examine the final stage of Israel's exodus from Egypt with the account of the crossing of the Red Sea. In addition to the historical event, the song of Exodus 15 gives us insight into the spiritual warfare that took place in the sea as the LORD went forth as a man of war. Through the information given to Moses, along with the further explanations taught later in the psalms & prophets, we learn about the enemy that was in the sea and the great victory the LORD wrought in perfecting Israel's deliverance. The birth of the nation Israel as Jehovah's son, even his firstborn, is surrounded by redeeming and purchasing power of Jehovah-ness going into effect for their salvation. Truly the none is like unto the LORD, and His right hand is glorious in power as He triumphs over the enemy!

Lesson 24: Israel's Wilderness Education (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Oct. 20, 2021 | Exo. 15:22-27; 16:1-36 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin our examination of Israel's education in the wilderness concerning Jehovah's name, I AM. Having been brought out of Egyptian bondage, it is time for them to be proven for what kind of servants they will be in connection with the LORD's purpose. Through a series of trials prior to arrival at Mt. Sinai, the LORD makes manifest what is in their hearts toward Him and His word, and He lays bare their utter need for His Jehovah-ness to make them into a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. By their own efforts, Israel can never attain unto their calling, but in the LORD is found all they will ever need. The question that remains is: Will Israel learn this lesson the easy way or the hard way?

Lesson 25: Israel's Wilderness Education (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Oct. 27, 2021 | Exo. 17:1-16; 18:1-11 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue our examination of Israel's education in the wilderness concerning Jehovah's name, I AM. With the first and second trials behind them, Israel is made to be confronted again with their inability as a nation to provide life for themselves. However, in the LORD is to be found all the provision that Israel will ever need. The rod of God begins to factor into the account prominently once again as Jehovah's word meets Israel's murmuring, and that rod of judgment in Jehovah's truth is likewise shown to be the rod of provision in Jehovah's grace. The LORD is their provision, their protection and the one in whom Israel's purpose will find power for fulfillment. The last three of the five trials demonstrate this in a marvelous way and give Israel yet more opportunities to learn the lessons of Jehovah's name.

Lesson 26: The Mt. Sinai Which Gendereth to Bondage

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Nov. 3, 2021 | Exo. 19:1-25 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we arrive at Mt. Sinai with the people of Israel in fulfillment of the word of the LORD. According to the token given to Moses in Exodus 3, the nation has now been delivered, instructed and set at liberty to serve God upon this mountain and following. The one issue that is outstanding for them as it relates to their vocation of son-ship service is a matter of spiritual fitness. As Jehovah's servants, they need perfect righteousness and perfect holiness in order to be utilized in connection with His purpose on the earth. Accordingly, the proposition is set before them and the choice has to be made by them concerning where from they desire to have that spiritual fitness come. They have seen what the LORD has done for them, but now the offer is laid before their faces to attempt to attain by their own performance through obedience and keeping of the law. Will Israel place confidence in their own flesh or demonstrate a heart that has learned the lessons of the wilderness and call upon the name of the LORD? In this message, we find out where Israel stands spiritually speaking in relation to the name of the LORD.

Lesson 27: The Legal Reserve Clause

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Nov. 10, 2021 | Exo. 33:19 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we delve into the further details of the giving of the law to Israel. On repeated occasions, we see the warnings issued to them concerning the importance of their spiritual steadfastness to the LORD in view of the law contract. Despite the many things that should have caused them to think on their ways, the people persist and the law is ratified by blood. Soon after, the nation enters into a grievous transgression against the LORD and against the law in the graving of the molten calf. Per the terms of their performance agreement, Israel deserves to be consumed and destroyed under the law cursings. Nevertheless, the legal reserve clause is introduced as the LORD shews them the glory of who He is as Jehovah, and provides for them despite their spiritual foolishness. Lasting impacts will be seen from the contents of this lesson concerning The Legal Reserve Clause.

Lesson 28: An Orientation to the Five Course of Punishment

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Nov. 17, 2021 | Lev. 26:1-46 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin to take a look at one of the most important chapters in the Bible as it relates to opening the understanding to Israel's program under the law. That chapter is Leviticus 26; a single chapter of 46 verses in the word of God that touches almost everything following it. This critical chapter is paramount in understanding the coming developments in Israel's program, so we take the time to begin orienting ourselves to its structure and terminology. The concepts covered in this message will serve as a foundation for the development of the subject in future lessons.

Lesson 29: The Five Course of Punishment

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Nov. 24, 2021 | Lev. 26:1-46 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we delve further into the details of the five courses of punishment. The primary goal of this lesson is to outline the characteristics of each course and familiarize ourselves with the cures that the LORD said that He would bring upon Israel if they failed to comply with the law contract. Each course is looked in in brief detail and compared with related passages in Deuteronomy 28. Finally, we place general descriptions of the corresponding time period with each course and set the stage for much of the rest of our study in this lesson.

Lesson 30: Israel's Third Strike

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Dec. 1, 2021 | Num. 1:1-5a,52; 2:2; 10:11-13; 13:1-14:45 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we turn to the book of Numbers to continue our trek with Israel toward the Promised Land. As preparation for the next stage of the program and the conquest of the land, Israel's men are numbered for war and organized by their standards. The cloudy pillar moves the nation from Mt. Sinai in the wilderness of Sin up to Kadesh-barnea in the wilderness of Paran. From there, the twelve heads of the tribes of Israel go forth to espy the land for forty days and traverse the country side northward to Rehob and return southward to Hebron and the valley of Eschol. The spies find the land just as Jehovah had described it; a good and pleasant land flowing with milk and honey, nevertheless fortified with strength, walls & giants. Their report is given to the nation, and Israel again has to make a choice as to who they will believe. As has been their natural tendency up to this point, so it is now as they commit their third grievous offense against Jehovah-ness and grace and despise the land and the LORD. Listen to this message to walk through the details with us.

Lesson 31: The Wilderness Wanderings

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Dec. 8, 2021 | Num. 14:33-35 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we discuss the details of the time concerning Israel's consignment to wander in the wilderness and we explore a number of the key details and events that take place while they are there. Having rebelled against the word of the LORD in unbelief, the generation that came out of Egypt will not see the Promised Land, and the LORD will wait until that generation has ceased from among Israel before carrying His program forward. We also look at the events surrounding the exclusion of Moses and Aaron from entering Canaan, along with details of the numbering of the new generation for war in preparation for the coming conquest under the lead of Joshua.

Lesson 32: The Law in Review

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Dec. 15, 2021 | Deut. 1:1 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we survey a large portion of the book of Deuteronomy. Special emphasis is given to the theme of Moses in addressing the new generation of Israelites as they prepare to cross Jordan and go in to possess the land. Moses's death is imminent and as such, he urgently presses upon the nation their responsibility in the land under the law. Finally, we see the LORD through Moses return to the theme of the five courses of punishment first outlined in Leviticus 26. In view of the coming failures of the nation under the Mosaic Covenant, the LORD also provides an additional covenant whereby Israel will eventually come to possess the land in perpetuity, and Israel hope will yet be found in the name of the LORD.

Lesson 33: The Succession of Joshua & The Conquest of the Land

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Dec. 22, 2021 | Josh. 1:1-9 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we see the transition from Moses to Joshua finalized. Moses, the servant of the LORD, is now dead, but the program of the LORD is very much alive and ready to take the next steps in the reclaiming of His land from the Adversary. Accordingly the LORD issues commandment to Joshua to arise, pass over Jordan and go in to possess the land promised to Israel's fathers. With the assurance of the LORD's presence and good success in the conquest of the land, Joshua prepares the people to function as the army of the living God, the Lord of all the earth, and advance the LORD's cause in the earth. We survey Israel's entrance into Canaan, the subsequent conquest and the many battles that Joshua leads and the division of the land by lot to Israel's tribes.

Lesson 34: Joshua's Last Charge

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Dec. 29, 2021 | Josh. 23:1-16; 24:1-31 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we examine Joshua's last charge and counsels to the nation Israel. Per the LORD's prescribed method of conquest "by little and little", Joshua and his generation had done "very courageously" in following the LORD, but there still remained very much land to be possessed by the next generation in Israel. This was by design and according to all that the LORD had said, however, because of the law contract, the following generations must also whole-heartedly serve the LORD according to the law if they wished to enjoy the same prosperity and successes of Joshua's generation. By the end of Joshua's lifetime, he perceives an insincere heart in the people toward the LORD and cautions them against serving the other gods that had crept in among them. In his last charge, Joshua exhorts the people to put away their strange gods, go wholly after the LORD and do all that Moses commanded that they and their children might also make their way prosperous and have good success in the land.

Lesson 35: The Seeds of Rebellion Are Sown

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jan. 5, 2022 | Judg. 1:1-36; 2:1-19; 3:5-7 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we further our study with a look at some fundamental failures of Joshua's generation. The seeds of rebellion that Joshua saw and sought to address at the end of his life end up getting planted in the hearts of the next generation. The ungodly fruit that those seeds produced begin to show in their children as the nation continues its descent away from the Law and the LORD. Accordingly, Israel becomes ready for the reception of the first course of punishment as the LORD begins to respond to Israel's rebelliousness with the chastening that the covenant promised. Despite all this, the LORD's mercy and compassion is put on bright display as he begins to raise up the judges to deliver them.

Due to technical difficulties, the video for this message was lost midway through the stream. However, I have supplied the audio portion in video format below.

Lesson 36: The Days When the Judges Ruled (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jan. 12, 2022 | Lev. 26:16-17; Judg. 2:11-19; Ruth 1:1-22; 1 Sam. 7:15-17; Acts 13:20 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin to look at the period of the judges in Israel and the characteristics of the time. As we match up the biblical history of this period with the clear statements contained in the law, we find that the first course of punishment is present in Israel during this time. Using several example passages from both Judges and Ruth, we begin to see these things taking place in Israel and understand why it is all happening at this time. There are many details of the first course of punishment in the days when the judges ruled, and with this message and the next, we seek to gain a fundamental appreciation and recognition of the events of this time.

Lesson 37: The Days When the Judges Ruled (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jan. 19, 2022 | Lev. 26:14-17; 1 Sam. 1:1-19; 2:12-17; 27-34; 4:2-3, 10 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue looking at the issues of the first course of punishment as found in the days when the judges ruled in Israel. The first half of the message focuses on a few of the first course issues that can be observed in 1 Samuel 1-15. The issues surrounding Israel's continued oppression by their enemies along with individual instances of sorrow of heart are examined. Finally, after concluding a brief survey of these issues, we turn our attention to look at the designed impact and outcome that these chastisements were designed to produce in Israel and look for answers as to how, in fact, Israel chose to respond. Will the nation begin to amend her ways or continue down the pathway of idolatrous corruption like all the nations? Study with us to learn more about these topics.

Lesson 38: Perverted Priests & An Unholy Nation (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jan. 26, 2022 | Exo. 19:3-8; 1 Sam. 2:12-17; 22-25 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin to examine the capstone issues of corruption that blossomed and matured throughout the first course of punishment. Two very fundamental issues comprised what Israel was called to be in the land as the LORD's own peculiar treasure: a kingdom of priests and an holy nation. This they said they would be and, by faithful obedience to the voice of the LORD, would manifest their own natural fitness for such a calling in the LORD's repossession campaign on earth. However, under the law in the land, Israel proves themselves to be something else entirely. Rather than a kingdom of priests and an holy nation, Israel's performance devolved into the corruption and perversion of these core issues of their identity. The focus of this message is on the perversion of the priesthood in the service and worship of the LORD under the Levitical order. The next will focus on their separateness as a holy nation. Study with us as we delve into these truths of God's word!

Lesson 39: Perverted Priests & An Unholy Nation (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Feb. 2, 2022 | 1 Sam. 1:19-28; 2:11-26; 3:19-21; 7:1-17; 8:1-10 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue to examine the capstone issues of the first course of punishment, and Israel's corruption with respect to the fundamental matters of their national calling. This study focuses on the second of the two issues with a look at the rise and ministry of Samuel as well as Israel's eventual rejection of their "holy nation" status unto the LORD. This they do by demanding a king that they might, in turn, be like all the nations. Once again, this perversion not only rejects their peculiarity unto Jehovah in connection with His purpose on earth, but also embraces the Adversary and his agenda for the thwarting of God's purpose. In this message we survey the details of these matters and provide the setup for the LORD's next move.

Lesson 40: Saul, A King After Thine Own Heart

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Feb. 9, 2022 | 1 Sam. 9:1-3, 15-17; 10:17-25; 11:11-15; 12:1-25 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we take a brief look at the king that fits Israel's desire to be "like all the nations." Saul, a well-to-do and attractive young man of strength from the tribe of Benjamin comes into the scriptural picture, and we follow Samuel's interactions with him as he is chosen to become Israel's first human king. While the LORD chooses Saul for Israel, He does so according to "their voice" and makes this selection according to the heart that is manifested in His nation. Saul, therefore, is the people's king; a man after their own heart. With initial successes in military deliverances, Saul is embraced by the populace. Will he be the answer that Israel has been looking for throughout the first course of punishment and finally usher in the blessing in the land? In this study, we examine these issues and more as we look at Saul, a king after their own heart.

Lesson 41: David, A King After Mine Own Heart

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Feb. 16, 2022 | 1 Sam. 13:6-18; 14:28-32; 15:1-3, 7-15, 20-29; 16:1-13 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we examine the track record of Saul's disobedience and the LORD's rejection of him as Israel's established king. Saul's repeated failure with respect to the commandments of the LORD demonstrated that the nation is no better off under a king of their choosing. The kingdom is, therefore, rent from Saul and given to another of the LORD's choosing. David, a man after God's own heart, is sought out and anointed by the LORD to take the reigns of the kingdom in due course. David had no outward appearances of kingly greatness, but there was a heart inside his bosom of which the LORD took note. As we progress through this study, we survey the details of David's anointing and circle back into Israel's former history to see that God's timing for David and the kingdom, though seemingly derailed by Israel, is still right on track.

Lesson 42: The Interlude of Mercy & Blessing (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Feb. 23, 2022 | 1 Sam. 16:13; 18:5-9; 23:1-5; 30:16-20; 31:3-6; 2 Sam. 2:1-4a; 3:1; 5:1-5; 1 Ki. 1:39-40; 2:10-12; 11:41-43
Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we transition into the next phase of Israel's prophetic timeline by overviewing the Interlude of Mercy & Blessing. This period of 80-100 years under the reigns of David & Solomon is Israel's historic golden age, a time when the courses of chastisement are rolled back and the LORD, in mercy, blesses Israel with a foretaste of kingdom glory that is theirs when Jehovah is for them. This time of glory and exaltation was a pure gift from the LORD, for by their own works, Israel deserved none of it. Despite their evil way, the LORD undertakes a work "for his great name's sake" and Israel's rise begins to impact the world with kingdom glory. There is much significance to this block of time in Israel's program, and this study is designed to give the lay of the land for this period of time.

Lesson 43: The Interlude of Mercy & Blessing (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Mar. 2, 2022 | 2 Sam. 7:1, 11; 8:12-15, 56; 1 Ki. 2:12; 4:21, 24-25, 29-34; 1 Chr. 14:17; 29:28; 2 Chr. 1:15

In this message, we continue our overview of the interlude of mercy and blessing by summarizing the major characteristics of the reigns of David & Solomon. In the last study, we worked through the historical event flow of the period. Now, the focus will shift as we layer in a host of scriptures for added context concerning the overarching character of the time. The interlude of mercy and blessing involves Israel's experience of rest from their enemies as the first course of punishment is rolled back, the establishment of national righteous rule as Israel is united under a centralized government and the dramatic increase in land, wealth and influence as the nation flourishes with abundant prosperity. Lesson 44: The Interlude of Mercy & Blessing (Pt. 3)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Mar. 9, 2022 | 1 Sam. 12:19-22; 2 Sam. 7:12-13, 22-26; Mic. 4:1-8 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we further our study of Israel's interlude of mercy and blessing as found in the days of David and Solomon. This study emphasizes the LORD's reasons for giving Israel such a period of glory and prosperity and builds upon the foundational characteristics of the time examined in the previous messages. The name of the LORD and Jehovah's purpose for kingdom glory on earth are key issues for our understanding during this time. Through a cross selection of scriptures, we deal with these topics in a summary fashion with the aim of enhancing the special significance of this period in Israel's program and the prophetic timeline of Jehovah's purpose on earth. In this message, we further our study of Israel's interlude of mercy and blessing as found in the days of David and Solomon. Lesson 45: The Davidic Covenant (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Mar. 16, 2022 | 2 Sam. 7:1-17 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we dive into the initial declaration of the Davidic Covenant. The context of its first declaration to David is examined in view of David's desire to build an house to the name of the LORD. While David understands the goal of the LORD's program with Israel, he is yet ignorant of God's timing. He does not understand that the interlude of mercy and blessing that the LORD has ushered in for Israel is only a temporary foretaste of kingdom glory. For this reason, the LORD has to inform David about his role in the outworking of God's plan. However, in a monumental reply to David's wonderful desire, the LORD makes with David a covenant to establish his house, kingdom and throne for ever. Wrapped up in this glorious covenant is the issue of the incarnation of Jehovah in David's seed line as the mechanical means whereby all His will is to be brought to pass. This is glorious truth that you will want to know! Open your Bible and study along for God's glory.

Lesson 46: The Davidic Covenant (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Mar. 23, 2022 | 2 Sam. 7:11-29; 2 Sam. 23:1-5; Acts 2:25-31 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue our look at the Davidic Covenant and focus upon David's assigned role in connection with it as "a prophet." To David is given, not only the promises of the covenant, but also the "words" of it. The LORD deputized David to expound and manifest the glorious truths resident within it, and "the sweet Psalmist of Israel" is used by the Spirit of the LORD to feed Jehovah's people with wisdom and knowledge concerning Christ, the Son of David. In addition to this, we take some time to look backwards on the timeline and consider the preparation of Israel for the Davidic Covenant in David's time. The period of the Judges serves as a time of education for Israel based upon what the LORD records in His word, and the Davidic Covenant is declared as the solution to all Israel's former predicaments. This message serves as the setup and base for the next in which these core doctrines concerning the Christ will be explored further.

Lesson 47: The Davidic Covenant (Pt. 3)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Mar. 30, 2022 | 2 Sam. 23:1-5; Ps. 1:1-150:6; Isa. 7:10-14; 9:6-7 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we conclude our dedicated examination of the Davidic Covenant by summarizing the sweet Psalms that expound the five mandates of the Davidic Covenant. In the five books of the Psalms, we see the doctrinal package of Israel's full salvation in the LORD extolled as the name of the LORD undertakes the provisions for all their predicaments. After hopping through the Psalms, we examine a couple passages from Isaiah's prophecy to tie together the various elements of the previous two messages. In the passages from Isaiah, we can clearly see the link between the house, throne and kingdom of David and the five mandates which Jehovah undertakes by His name in the person of the Christ. The glory of the LORD will yet be on full display when the Immanuel comes in the zeal of the LORD as the "child born" and "son given" who will order and establish David's kingdom on the earth for ever!

Lesson 48: Solomon's Wisdom, Wealth & Wickedness (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Apr. 6, 2022 | 1 Kings 2:10-12; 3:1-15; 6:1, 11-14; 9:1-9; 10:26-29; 11:1-14, 23-24 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we move on to take a quick look at the reign of Solomon, the son of David. In the beginning, Solomon was small in his own eyes; nothing more than a child without the sense to discern between good and bad. For this reason, Solomon perceived his great need of the LORD and the furtherance of His mercy toward Israel in order that the days of blessing might continue with them in the land. This humility and uprightness of heart pleased the LORD, and the LORD granted Solomon's petition. However, with time came corruption. The pride of power and the prosperity of riches led to a cancer of sin that ate at the heart of Israel's prosperity in the land. Solomon's great wickedness manifests toward the latter end of his reign, and the consequences of such are dire. These issues and others are explored in this study and the fundamental details laid in place for a deeper dive in the next lesson.

Lesson 49: Solomon's Wisdom, Wealth & Wickedness (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Apr. 13, 2022 | 1 Kings 10:26-29; 11:1-14, 23-24, 33 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue our brief look at King Solomon with an excursion into the depth of the apostasy with which he became involved. Having given himself to the pursuit of strange women, Solomon became entangled with the depravity of their idolatry. The man that had been used to build the house of the LORD, now focuses his building efforts on the high places of vanity and iniquity. The Satanic influence that fills Israel during the latter end of Solomon's reign is astounding, and the depth of the apostasy is frightening. With Solomon, great wickedness is once again reintroduced in Israel and the anger of the LORD kindled for the resumption of the courses of punishment. Join us as we explore these issues together and set the stage for upcoming events that will be witnessed as Israel's history continues to be followed through the word of God.

Lesson 50: Breaking the Pride of Power (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Apr. 20, 2022 | Leviticus 26:18-20; 1 Kings 11:9-13, 26-43 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin our transition into a study of the second course of punishment from Leviticus 26. The resumption of the courses of punishment is announced to Solomon in response to his abominations with the gods of the heathen. We take some time understanding the first phase of the second course of punishment, the terminology used in the law, and from a variety of passages equip ourselves with the necessary understanding to comprehend the LORD's words to Solomon in 1 Kings 11. Finally, we see highlight the final days of Solomon's reign, the trouble that began in his time, and prepare ourselves for the transition of power to his son, Rehoboam, and with it the arrival of the second course of punishment. Study with us with a Bible in hand as we seek to develop our understanding of these important matters in God's word.

Lesson 51: Breaking the Pride of Power (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Apr. 27, 2022 | Leviticus 26:18-20; 1 Kings 11:26-43; 12:1-33 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we probe the details of the historical account of the breaking of the pride of Israel's power. Per the terms of the law contract and the second course of punishment announced to Solomon, we see the history of the divided kingdom unfolding after his decease according to the word of the LORD. The servant/son division becomes a reality with Jeroboam and Rehoboam, and our study examines these men and the events that led to the division of the kingdom of Israel. Additionally, we discuss some of the implications that these events will have on the timeline moving forward, and lay another brick on the house of doctrine that the LORD is building throughout time as recorded in His word. Turbulent times lay ahead for the nation from this point, and understanding these matters is essential for properly handling the word of truth going forward in our study.

Lesson 52: An Iron Heaven & A Brazen Earth

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 4, 2022 | Lev. 26:18-20; 1 Ki. 13:33-34; 14:7-11, 14-16; 15:25-34; 16:8-10, 11-13, 17-19, 23-34; 18:1-46; 21:51-53
Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we survey the iniquity of the kings of Israel that reigned over the northern kingdom during the second course of punishment.  Particular emphasis is given to the sins of Jeroboam in which these kings walked and how that they all provoked the LORD to anger with their vanities.  The worst of these in succession was Ahab, who not only walked in Jeroboam's sins concerning Baalism, but also sold himself to work wickedness at the stirring up of his Zidonian wife, Jezebel.  As the spiritual state of Israel continues to erode with each successive king, the LORD moves to implement the second phase of the second course of punishment during the reign of Ahab.  This He does by raising up a prophet named Elijah, who vigorously contends with the house of Ahab, announces the next phase of divine judgment upon the northern kingdom, and is used of the LORD mightily to shew that there is no God in Israel but Jehovah!  Much is covered in this message, so prepare to study along with a Bible in hand as we allow the word of God to instruct us in these matters.

Lesson 53: Where is the LORD God? (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 11, 2022 | Lev. 26:21; 1 Kings 21:17-29; 2 Kings 1:1-8; 2:1-22 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we move on in the second course of punishment to further consider Ahab's abominations and what it will mean for the northern kingdom. Despite having great witness to the LORD held before him, Ahab continues down his abominable path. His idolatry becomes so horrific that the LORD will describe it as being on par with what the Amorites had done in the land, meriting their expulsion. In this way, Ahab and Israel had begun to "walk contrary" to the LORD and were deserving of the next intensification of legal chastisement. Nevertheless, while judgment is pronounced upon the house of Ahab, the king humbles himself before the LORD, and for this, Jehovah grants a stay of "the evil" until the days of his son. While wrath continues to be a theme in Israel's history under the law, we are nevertheless given another gleaming picture of Jehovah's mercy. However, consistent with His word, the third course of punishment arrives in Ahaziah's day and we are given to see the second course of punishment transition to the third in dramatic fashion. Keep your Bible hand and study along with us as we continue our examination of Israel My Glory.

Lesson 54: Where is the LORD God? (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 18, 2022 | Lev. 26:21-22, 25; 2 Kings 2:1-25; 4:1-7; 6:1-7, 24-31; 7:1-20; 8:7-15 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we dive into the ministry of Elisha and the third course of punishment in Israel. The third course starts in dramatic fashion just as the second was concluded and Elisha is confirmed as prophet in the room of his master, Elijah. Quickly, the further chastisements of the law begin to ravage the northern kingdom with the prolific rise of wild beasts on the countryside and the economic depression brought about by disease, warfare and famine. The evil that the LORD spoke has now become Israel's reality, cumulatively stacked upon the horrors of the first two courses of punishment that were already present in the land. Things are very bad in Israel, nevertheless, the LORD's mercy is still there with a remnant as Elisha administers a series of physical salvations that counteract the effects of judgment upon the faithful. After a brief survey of these matters, we are given to see the indicator that Israel's rebellion is not being healed during this time, and the first glimpses of the fourth course of punishment make it inevitable that Israel will continue down this path of their destruction. While the events covered in this message are predominantly negative, we are left with a sense of awe and respect for the faithfulness of the LORD to His word, whether it be in mercy or in judgement.

Lesson 55: Israel is "Cut Short" (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | May 25, 2022 | Lev. 26:23-25; 2 Kings 8:16-29; 9:1-31; 10:1-33; 2 Chr. 18:1-3; 19:1-3; 20:35-37
Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin to familiarize ourselves with the chastisements of the fourth course of punishment. We do this by, once again, examining verses from Leviticus 26 and allowing the scriptures to explain to us what it will mean when Jehovah begins to walk contrary to Israel. After spending some time getting these concepts in our mind, we return to the historical account of 2 Kings and bring our knowledge of what happens in Judah up to speed with where we are with Israel in the third course of punishment and Elisha's ministry. We see the affinity that Jehoshaphat had with Ahab continue to materialize throughout his reign and eventually turns into a partnership with Ahab's son, Ahaziah. The affinity leads to a marriage of Jehoshaphat's son with Ahab's daughter and the evil of the northern kingdom begins to creep into Judah through Jehoram and Ahaziah of the house of David. Finally, execution of judgment upon Ahab's house is carried out to its full extent according to the word of the LORD by Elijah the Tishbite and both of the wicked kings of Israel & Judah get caught up in the destruction by the hand of Jehu. This, in turn, does not lead to Israel's reformation despite initial progress under Jehu, and through four generations Israel begins to be "cut short" & the fourth course of punishment commences.

Lesson 56: Israel is "Cut Short" (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 1, 2022 | Lev. 26:23-26; 2Ki. 10:30-33; 13:1-7; 14:23-27; 2Ch. 24:17-25; 27:1-2; 28:1-8,16-25; Amo. 4:6-13; Mic. 6:13-16
Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we briefly review the curses of the fourth course of punishment and then dive into the historical scriptures relating to this time. Passage by passage, we survey several instances in which we can see the onset of the promised chastisements exacting their wrath upon both the northern and southern kingdoms. In addition to the survey of the kings, we find that the writing prophets begin coming on the scene to confront the people with their sins, their rebellion against the law of the LORD, and their irrefutable worthiness of the fifth and final course of punishment. Nevertheless, in all their afflictions, Jehovah is afflicted and sorrowful about the oppression of His people. He shows them great grace, mercy and compassion that is truly astounding! Grab your Bible and study along with us through this insightful passage of God's word.

Lesson 57: Israel: Downcast, Destroyed & Desolate (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 8, 2022 | Lev. 26:27-46; 2 Ki. 17:1-23; 21:1-16; 24:11-20; 25:1-21 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we take a preliminary look at the fifth course of punishment in Leviticus 26. Our first order of business is to examine the text of the law to understand the similarities and differences between the fifth course of punishment and the previous four. What we find is yet another seven-fold intensification as the fury of the LORD is poured out upon Israel and Judah resulting in their expulsion from the land of promise. After defining the terms and listing the curses, we dive back into the history and the prophets to sample the arrival of the fifth course curses in both the northern and southern kingdoms. A lot of verses are covered in this message, so be sure to keep your Bible handy as you study the word of God with us.

Lesson 58: Israel: Downcast, Destroyed & Desolate (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 15, 2022 | Lev. 26:27-46; 2 Kings 17:9-13; 24:1-4; 2 Chron. 36:15-16 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue to examine the fifth course of punishment by sampling passages from several prophets that ministered to Israel & Judah ahead of the coming captivity. In their prophecies we can see all the curses of the fifth course of punishment spoken about along with the sorrow of Jehovah over the iniquities and sins of His people. Unfortunately, the nation persisted with their stiff-necks and rebellious hearts and had to endure the legal chastisement of the covenant that they were under. Sin always destroys and the sinner's only hope is in the name of the LORD! Israel & Judah have to learn this the hard way, and there was nothing harder to this stage of the program than the fifth course of punishment and the captivities that got it underway.

Lesson 59: Of Times & Sabbaths (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 22, 2022 | Lev. 23:3-44; 25:1-22; 26:32-35, 43; 2 Chron. 36:15-21 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we take up a further examination of a key issue wrapped upon the fifth course of punishment with respect to the land; namely, the enjoyment of the sabbatical years.  Leviticus 26 makes a clear connection between Israel's scattering and the land of the LORD from which they were removed by their Gentile captors.  In addition to their many sins and idolatrous abominations, the issue of their misuse and abuse of the Jehovah's land is a key component of their exile.  As we study, we learn of the variety of sabbath days that the LORD required of His people under the law, the special significance of the sabbaths in Israel and how the overarching theme of God's program with them is intertwined in the prescribed sabbath observances.  It was their neglect of these fundamental issues of the program for which they find themselves shut out of the LORD's inheritance.  Finally, we see how that these important issues are linked back to the underlying "time" of prophecy and its connection to the arrival of the fifth course of punishment as declared by the prophet Jeremiah.  Get your Bible ready and study with us as we explore these fascinating matters together!

Lesson 60: Of Times & Sabbaths (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jun. 29, 2022 | 2 Chron. 36:15-21; Jer. 25:11-12; 29:10 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue to examine some further details of Israel's fifth course of punishment under the law with a special emphasis on time within the prophetic program. God has dealt with Israel according to prophecy and prophetic timetables from their beginning, and this message is designed to demonstrate how that the seventy years prophecy of Jeremiah fits as another link in the chain of a long list of prophetic utterances given to Israel by the LORD. Consequently, much of this message serves as a review, but not one without significance as it relates to our present position within God's dealings with the nation Israel. More about time will be revealed in time, so with your Bible ready, study with us as we learn these truths together.

Lesson 61: The Times of the Gentiles (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jul. 6, 2022 | Jeremiah 25:1-14; Daniel 2:1-45 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin an examination of the Gentile world powers that are set to serve themselves of Israel in the fifth course of punishment. Following the 70 years of Babylonian captivity, there is a prophetic expectation of more to come before the kingdom of the God of heaven is established and the Davidic throne restored to Israel. Through a brief look at Jeremiah 25, we are introduced to these concepts of Gentile power in relation to Israel, and then we move into Daniel 2 to get further details about the next phases of world history. This is a fascinating study concerning a Gentile king, a Jewish captive, a great image of metallic and earth composition, and a stone cut out without hands. Get your Bible ready and study with us in this exciting portion of God's word!

Lesson 62: The Times of the Gentiles (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jul. 13, 2022 | Jeremiah 29:1-11; Daniel 9:1-27 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue our look at the Times of the Gentiles. In addition to Jeremiah's prophecy concerning the punishment of Babylon after seventy years, he also made prophecies via letter to the Jewish captives of the first deportation. To them, the LORD reveals by Jeremiah that after the time is fulfilled, He would visit them and cause them to return to the land. Thus they were given hope that the desolation of Jerusalem would be ended and a return would be permitted, however, only under the authority of the next Gentile power. Based upon that understanding, near the end of the seventy years Daniel comes to understand the relative position of Judah to Jeremiah's prophecy and sets his face toward the LORD to understand what is coming next. To Daniel, Gabriel is sent to provide skill and understanding of the times. Seventy weeks are determined and within that time all will finally be fulfilled. The material covered in these passages sets the stage for the rest of the program and gives us the framework upon which to comprehend God's work and word moving forward. Things are about to get interesting!

Lesson 63: The Times of the Gentiles (Pt. 3)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jul. 20, 2022 | Daniel 9:20-27 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we return to Daniel 9 and the prophecy of the seventy weeks determined upon the people and the city of Jerusalem. We further explore the detailed breakdown of the timeline and take note of how it fits with the Times of the Gentiles overall. After a brief review of the concept of the seventy weeks of years, our attention shifts to the text to build out the framework of the subdivisions of time within the seventy weeks prophecy. The details attached to each segment of time or quite telling with important truths about the beginning and end points from which time is to be reckoned. This all has profound significance for the city of Jerusalem and the earthly program of God overall. Additionally, we learn that much of the rest of the Bible fits on this timeline and we begin associating some books with each section of the timeline.

Lesson 64: Troublous Times (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Jul. 27, 2022 | Dan. 9:25; Ezr. 1:1-11; 6:1-12; 7:11-26 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we begin to evaluate the troublous times of the second installment of the fifth course of punishment. Within this timeframe, we are anticipating the coming of a commandment from Judah's Gentiles lords for the restoration and rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem. As our attention turns to the book of Ezra, we find 3 commandments concerning Jerusalem. Two of the three pertain to the reconstruction of the temple and the work of the first band of Jews that had migrated back to Jerusalem under the leadership of Zerubbabel. While these are certainly prophetically significant, they are not the signal of the start of the initial seven weeks of Daniel's vision. It is the third commandment, issued by Artaxerxes in the days of Ezra that first pertains to the reconstruction of the city. Through an examination of each one of these commandments we come to place the start of the second installment at that time. This is a very detailed and interesting section of scripture, so keep your Bible handy and compare the passages with us as we draw this conclusion.

In this message, we begin to dive into the details of the Medo-Persian period of the times of the Gentiles. We start out looking at a pair of prophecies given concerning the rise of the Medes and drill into the depth of God's foreknowledge as He calls Cyrus by name a century and a half prior to his use for Israel's sake and the return to the land. After the prophetic utterances are established, we jump back into the history of Ezra, beginning with the decree of Cyrus for the temple's reconstruction in Jerusalem. We follow Zerubbabel and the returning remnant through the foundation work, see the arrival of opposition through their adversaries and the idle neglect of the work that is rebuked by God's prophets. This is an action packed message with numerous references that are worth your time in invested study.

Lesson 66: Troublous Times (Pt. 3)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Aug. 10, 2022 | Ezra 4:7-16, 21-23; 7:1, 6-25; Neh. 1:1-11; 2:1-20; 6:15-16 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we enter the second installment in earnest as Ezra is authorized by Artaxerxes to return to Jerusalem for the teaching of the law of the LORD and the restitution of the city of Jerusalem. As we consider Ezra, a ready scribe in the law of Moses, we are given to see parallels with the times of the work of the temple reconstruction with respect to commandments, opposition, and reauthorization from the Gentiles. The times of Nehemiah also factor into this as the initial seven weeks of Daniel's visions get underway.

Lesson 67: Troublous Times (Pt. 4)

In this message, we survey the book of Esther and take note of how it fits into the program of God with Israel in the second installment of the fifth course of punishment. Many verses are read as we follow the narrative through the days of Ahasuerus, Haman, Mordecai & Esther and the ancient conflict between the Jews and Amalekites. While the name of God is never mentioned, He is active and present among His people in the land of their enemies despite their deservingness and is faithful to His own word and program. This marvelous reality is very evident despite the absence of explicit reference to Him. This thrilling narrative is sure to charge the soul with awe for God and the excellency of His word!

Lesson 68: The Silence of God (Pt. 1)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Aug. 24, 2022 | Neh. 7:1-4; 9:6-38; 10:28-39; 13:6-27; Mal. 1:6-14; 2:10-17; 3:1-11 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we prepare for a transition on the timeline from the second installment of the fifth course of punishment into the third which is characterized by the silence of God. The space of time between the labeled testaments of the Bible was a long and chaotic period. With no new, prophetic revelation during this period, this section has obvious challenges for Bible study. However, in the wisdom of God, He did not leave Israel (nor us) in the dark as to what to expect. Rather, what He had already given by way of revelation contained all the wisdom and understanding needed for his people to navigate this time in anticipation of the coming Messiah. We begin to familiarize ourselves with these concepts in this study and lay the groundwork for the upcoming messages devoted to this period of the silence of God.

Lesson 69: The Silence of God (Pt. 2)

Bro. Joshua Edwards | Aug. 31, 2022 | Isa. 50:1-7; Jer. 3:1-8, 20; Hos. 2:1-23; 5:14-15; 6:1-3; Amo. 8:1-12; Mic. 5:1-3 | Download Audio | Youtube

In this message, we continue to look at the scriptures that instruct us concerning the judgment of the silence of God that Israel experienced as part of the fifth course of punishment after Malachi's prophecy was concluded. Although the LORD would send a famine of hearing the words of the LORD during this long period of time, He did not leave them without witness as to what He would be doing and what they should be doing during that time as they awaited the arrival of Jehovah's messenger and presence of the Christ among them. One of the notable issues for that time was the bill of divorcement that had put away the married relationship of Israel and Judah to the LORD on the basis of the Sinaitic covenant. The hope of any living union relationship in the land between the LORD and the nation on that basis was for ever gone. Despite the hopeless outlook of such a predicament, the LORD nevertheless promised to undertake their redemption and provide for a new covenant and an altering of the nation's former, adulterous identity whereby they might be for ever joined to the LORD and abide in His land. These points and more are highlighted in this message as we continue the series, Israel My Glory.
